by Lester Dent and Will Murray, writing as Kenneth Robeson
cover illustration by Joe DeVito
Back after 20 years! Doc Savage and his mighty crew return in a brand-new series of nightmare exploits that can only be called…. The Wild Adventures of Doc Savage!
Ferocious blood-red Things begin dropping down from the sky, the state of California is besieged by the Desert Demons—a phenomenon so fierce that it triggers a modern exodus. Only Doc Savage, the scientist-superman who was forged in the fires of scientific knowledge to battle the unknown, is equal to the challenge. From the Hollywood hills to the alligator-infested interior of Florida, the Man of Bronze wages war with cyclonic monsters that seem to possess an intelligence of their own—and a murderous malevolence that smacks of the unearthly!

August 1, 2011Will did a great job on the previous 7 adventures written in’90′s, can’t wait to get the new stories, Long Live Doc Savage and his aides! Can’t say enough to encourage new readers to purchase the new Doc Savage reprint series from Anthony Tollin’s ShadowSanctum.com and Will Murray’s all new adventures from Altus Press.

August 25, 2011Amazing to hold a Doc Savage hardcover in my hands. I believe this is the first time Doc’s had a hardcover edition since the mid-seventies, and the Golden Press reprints.
‘Bout damn time we got a new Doc hardcover, yah?
The writing’s amazing! It gives me the same kind of thrill I felt when I read my first Doc Savage adventure decades ago.
I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is–I’m willing to subscribe to the next six Doc hardcovers RIGHT NOW.
So get to work setting up a subscription program, toot sweet, ya hear?

September 9, 2011Hi. Are there any plans to make these books available for the iBooks platform?
moring
September 9, 2011Hi BG-
Yes, we’re doing them for the iBookstore and the Sony Ereader as we speak. They require a longer approval process hence the delay.
thanks for your support,
Matt

September 9, 2011No, thank *you* for publishing such great books, and supporting iBooks. I’m a blind reader, and currently, iBooks is the only ebook reading app accessible via screen reader .

September 16, 2011Ordered my copy of The Desert Demons just recently. I had missed the release in June, but caught the advertisement in the back of one of the Sanctum reprints.
Can’t wait for it to arrive next week, and I’m looking forward to the next. I’ve enjoyed revisiting the series since the Sanctum reprints started. Doc Savage and The Shadow make a nice pairing, and new adventures of Doc Savage just makes the future so much better. Hopefully the new adventures will continue–though an update about Horror in Gold would be nice since we’re into early fall and past late summer.
Good luck with the new adventures in any case. I hope you’ll see an increase in orders because of the advertisement.

September 17, 2011Thanks for your support, Steve. We should have an update on Horror in Gold in just a few weeks.
Best,

November 25, 2011About when can we expect to see the 2nd Doc Savage book for sale?
moring
November 27, 2011It’s very soon now. It’s out for proofreading now, so I’d expect it in time for Christmas. Note that this time around, we’ll be releasing the paperback first, with the ebook following closely on its tails. A bit later we’ll put out the signed hardcover. I’ll be writing a post on this site to detail this as much as possible.

November 26, 2011Thanks for putting out the Doc Savages, I’ve been hoping that Will Murray could continue his novels at some point.
I do have a question, though. Inside The Desert Demons, you list 7 new Docs that will appear including The Desert Demons. On the back of Writings in Bronze, though, there were two extra listed, The Sun Terror and Grotto of Spiders. Is the plan to eventually publish all 9 stories?
moring
November 27, 2011That’s a good question, as some titles have changed. The best bet would be to ask the man himself! Please head on over to http://www.adventuresinbronze.com and use the contact form. I’m sure he’ll reply.

January 18, 2012A new Will Murray Doc is an event of the first order in pulp fandom. His pastiches understand and recreate the era and the mindsets in astonishing detail. An event like this should give us a time for reflection. I’m saving to go to Pulpfest 2012, and, frankly, I’d like to see some fresh faces. A fresh face would like the film series presented with care. A fresh face would like dealers at the tables to take questions and take part in conversations. In tight economic times and with an abundance of popular culture options, the pulp world can’t afford to be incestuous. Its a very tight and intimidating group to break into, and they should be breaking into the new faces group. Its old fiction not rocket science. Their are gems and great heroes to discover in the pulps, but there is a lot of crap. The reprints are expensive, so where should the new reader start. I went to a reading by a new writer, and none of the organizers attended the event. Panels and readings should be evening events. The deathly, long auctions are all about commerce and highlight the insider jokes of the few movers and shakers. Sell the joy of entering the dark city streets, of unspoiled, exotic tropical worlds, and of the North, the West, and the far east. Conventions should offer the opportunity for new folks to enter in.

July 4, 2012I ordered this book from Amazon UK 25 years to the day after I read my first Doc: ‘The All-White Elf’ in Omnibus #1. Just like reading one of the original stories. Going to be ordering Horror in Gold and The INfernal Buddha on Friday. Very much looking forward to those and teh following volumes.
