Doc Savage: The Infernal Buddha

by Lester Dent and Will Murray, writing as Kenneth Robeson

cover illustration by Joe DeVito

Back after 20 years! Doc Savage and his mighty crew return in a brand-new series of nightmare exploits that can only be called…. The Wild Adventures of Doc Savage!

Men called it the Buddha’s Toe—a relic so terrible it was kept sealed in a strongbox few dared open. Those who did dare, perished—shriveled up like fruit in the tropical sun, all vitality and life-force sucked out of them by a thing whose thirst for human souls was insatiable.

What kind of treasure would motivate plutocrats and pirates alike to vie for the power invested in this unholy thing? What could be gained by unleashing it upon the world? Only superman-scientist Doc Savage understood the real threat, but to stop it he would have to become the Buccaneer of Bronze!

From cosmopolitan Singapore to the barbaric waters of the Yellow Sea, Doc Savage plunges into a desperate struggle for control of the Infernal Buddha—before it consumes the planet!

As mentioned on the site and on Facebook, it’s only available for order on adventuresinbronze.com presently, and just the softcover for now.

I just bought the Nook version – THANK YOU for remembering that not everybody reading e-books uses a Kindle! I like how you got the e-version out quickly; I’ll end up getting the hardback edition now instead of just getting the trade version because I can read the ebook now.

So, always looking to the future, what are the plans for the next edition? Anything in the pipeline for this year, or should we not expect anything before 2013?

Look for another new one in the fall. And we’ll begin reprinting Will’s ’90s Docs in matching dress at the same time, starting with The Forgotten Realm.

        YES!

I can then hand out the replacement copies I have of the paperbacks (thank you, Katrina) to folks to get them hooked on Doc!

Oh, so Sanctum Books won’t be reprinting these?

Will the cover artwork be the same?

No, we’re reprinting them. We’re keeping the original Joe DeVito cover paintings but matching the new Doc Savage book design.

That’s good news to hear! Will the 90′s Docs be getting the same ebook and limited hardcover treatments that the new ones are?

Yep, that’s correct: ebooks and limited hardcovers containing new articles, etc. They’ll match perfectly. The Forgotten Realm is nearly ready to go in fact. An announcement will be forthcoming on Coming Attractions.

Have you guys given up on plans to publish this and other Doc novels in the iBooks store? I’m a blind reader, and as of yet, neither the Kindle nor Nook apps work with a screen reader. This makes me very sad.

Nope, we’re coding them up now. They should be done in a matter of days.
