April 24, 2009I had heard of the 1973 edition of this book, so was pleased that Altus has reprinted it, and allowed the author to do some revisions.
I’ve read most of it, and quite enjoyed it. A good, short, introduction to The Shadow.
There are a few nits about this work. I saw several typos and similiar messups. Commas where they weren’t needed, etc. These should have been caught in proofreading. Also, I was disappointed that the spine was black with no lettering on it. Would have expected to see the title, author, publisher on the spine.

December 3, 2009Will there be any more volumes in the History of the Shadow series, besides Gangland’s Doom and the Chronology of Shadows?

December 5, 2009Yes, there’s another one, covering the Belmont Shadows of the 60s being worked on now. Here’s a teaser: we’ve uncovered the lost, unpublished final Belmont Shadow story.

January 13, 2010It’s looking like the second half of this year, at this rate. Lots of work left to be done on it.

May 23, 2010I believe Tom Johnson did that work on the Belmont Shadows. I have the original edition, so would look forward to a replacement.
Some things I’d like to see covered (I can’t recall if they were in the original) would be an explanation of the connection between Belmont & Archie, prehaps coverage on the Archie Shadow series, and how Steranko got involved in doing the covers (when he was also doing the covers to the Pyramid reprints of the originals).
